Typically when people tell me they are going to eat healthier they say “Well I am going to eat salads and yogurt.” It makes me laugh every time because why are those two things considered “health foods”?? I see a lot of pre-made salads at the store and I see about a whole wall of yogurt. So why are we a nation of overweight and sick people?
The short answer is because these products are not health foods but in fact they are junk foods pretending to be health foods with their amazing marketing approach.
Back to school lunch shopping will be starting up soon and I know yogurt can be a popular one for kids and adults, but let me tell you that not all yogurt is created equally and in fact most of it sold in stores can be harmful for your body! Most yogurts are loaded with artificial sweeteners,colors and additives like high fructose corn syrup, Sucralose, fructose, food coloring so you are basically eating candy at this point. Most yogurts are not organic either which can be a point of concern, what did that cow eat? Was it injected with hormones? I do not consume dairy but when I did these were questions I had.
