Wacky Wednesday: Orange you Glad I Didn’t Say Banana!

Try not to be confused by the title of this post, banana’s carry just as much nutrition as any other fruit, but did you know that oranges are one of the most healthiest and nutritious foods in the world? While they are widely known for their vitamin C content they are also extremely high in fiber and potassium. Eating the whole piece of fruit is much better than drinking a glass of orange juice because, you get the added benefit of fiber from the actual fruit itself. Fiber is lacking in a huge percentage of the average persons diet, hence most of the digestive issues people have. Go ahead! Eat some living plants and thank me later!

Why not try some asian cabbage salad with orange sesame dressing! IMG_1652
This drressing can be made in a blender.

Dressing:
Squeeze the juice from 3-4 oranges
1/4 raw sesame seeds
Squeeze the juice of 1 lime
1 TBSP pistachios
1 knob of fresh ginger
Handful of cilantro
2 chopped green onions

Salad mix.
This is what I used:
Few cups of shredded nappa cabbage
1 diced red pepper
Diced carrots
Bean sprouts
2 cups edamame
Drizzle dressing over top and let it marinate.
Cut up orange on top.

Give it a go, mix in any vegetables you like! It’s a quick recipe with minimal ingredients. Cooking DOES NOT have to be crazy fancy to be healthy and good. Change your approach to vegetables and fruit and do something different.
